Kagome is a contemporary high school student from Japan. Her worldview drastically alters when one day she is yanked out of her own time and into another, despite never being the kind to believe in stories and legends. There, in the distant past of Japan, Kagome learns that many of those quaint old tales are genuine and that one particular mythical being in particular—the canine-like half-demon known as Inuyasha—is connected to her fate. They are both connected to the Shikon Jewel, commonly known as the “Jewel of Four Souls,” by the same twist of destiny. Demons, however, beware—even the tiniest fragment of the Shikon Jewel endows its bearer with incredible power.
